Those who have returned from these expeditions report animals that are larger, sharper, and more vicious, hiding among canopies that block out the sun and thickets that are nearly impossible to walk through. There is no known reason why the Wilds are so abnormally dense and perilous.
Adding to the mystery, some explorers rumor of ancient ruins, buildings and constructs older than even the Vol Solans. If this is true, it would imply the forest used to be more habitable at some point in the past. Perhaps a people more technologically advanced than us once populated the land. What happened, and why? Well, you won’t get those answers from this book.
