Inside, there were cobwebs in every corner, with shelves nailed to the wall and various tools lying around. Lily picked up a rusty scythe leaning against the wall and studied it.
Fox grabbed a booklet off a shelf. “Huh. Hey, this is like a manual or something. Check it out, apparently this place used to be the old Gravewood keeper’s shed. I guess it hasn’t been used in a long while though.”
“Hm, I wonder why… Actually, what does a Gravewood keeper even do?”
Fox squinted to read the small text in the manual. “Uh.. here it lists responsibilities, like getting rid of weeds and uh, keeping trespassers from entering the forest.”
“Oh. Oops.”
"Oops."
He reached for another book, this one a lot thicker and well worn. He flipped through the pages. "Huh. This one's like, daily reports? But they all just say the same thing. All's well, everything's in order, yada yada. There's no year listed either. Oh, this one mentions a piano." He flipped a few more pages, then stopped.
"That's weird. Half this book is blank, the reports just... stop." Fox looked up at Lily, then noticed something was missing.
"Hey, where’s Willow? Actually, where’s Azrael too? He's been waiting for you at home right?”
“Willow said she wanted to sit outside for a bit. As for Azrael, he’ll be fine, my dad’s there.”
“That kid is weird. Have you noticed he never blinks?”
“Don’t be rude! I’m gonna go check on Willow.”
